Hi! I'm Kim!

I am running for re-election as a St. Albert Public School Board Trustee. I have had the privilege of serving our community for three terms and I have come to appreciate the importance of locally governed decision-making and policy development that is student-centered, meaningful to parents, and reflective of our community in providing the best possible education for our children.

Framing Our Children’s Future –
We all have a stake in it!

This has never before been more critical than it is right now.

  • As we come through the unprecedented times of COVID 19 - the safety and wellbeing of students and staff must be a priority. Supporting learning growth and healing as we continue with and come out of this pandemic will be one of my primary concerns.

  • Within this current context, School Boards in Alberta have no greater endeavour than to continue to be vigilant in our advocacy as the development and the implementation of the new Curriculum of Studies is ongoing and imminent.

I am passionate about Public School Education. I believe that quality, publicly funded, and locally governed schools, universally accessible for all children, are the foundation of a creative and prosperous civil society, in which all people can thrive. It is through education that we are able to realize our potential as individuals, contributing to the well-being and sustainability of our communities.

It is through public school education that we endeavour to raise all our children - humanity's greatest resource - in inclusive learning environments which honour their diversity and give them the tools and competencies to meet the challenges, in an ever evolving world. We need to be deliberate, intentional and doggedly persistent in protecting our ability as a community to frame our children's future.

If re-elected I will stand for:

  • Advocacy for Student Success

  • Broad based Community Representation

On October 18, 2021, make sure to re-elect Kim Armstrong.
